Wild Mignonette -reseda lutea – grows best in dry grassland and is well suited to chalk, limestone or sandy soils, on sites in full sun. In the wild, Wild Mignonettes can attract the Bath White as a breeding butterfly that will lay its eggs on the plant. Plants typically grow to about 2 foot high and have scented yellow flowers from June to August.. Wild Mignonette looks best growing with other chalk and limestone plants that flower in early to mid summer such as Oxeye daisies, Kidney Vetch, Greater Knapweed, Meadow Cranesbills and Small Scabious.
